Consolidation in the Ajax Toolkit Arena April 26, 2006

Posted by Bill in Ajax, SIG Meetings.

It looks like Dojo Toolkit (Alex Russell spoke about it at the Emerging Technology SIG in August of 2005) is gradually becoming the premier toolkit for Ajax development.

In January, it was adopted as the Ajax layer for Django.

The Java world has been gradually adopting Dojo for the past few months.

And yesterday Laszlo (who presented in January of 2005) and Dojo agreed to work together.

At this point, if you need to do Ajax, and your framework doesn't already have strong Ajax support built in, you'd have to have a very good reason not to go dojo.
