The Emerging Technology SIG is, first and foremost, a way for a bunch of silicon valley software enthusiasts to meet monthly and learn about new stuff.

There are, of course, a lot of ways to do that. What makes us special is our focus: we talk about software technologies that aren’t quite here yet, discuss trends in software technologies, and, in general, examine what’s things that are a year or two away from being important for startups (and three to five years from being mainstream technology).

As an example, we started talking about Web 2.0 in late 2003 (and, quite honestly, we're a little bored with it these days).

If you're a technology junkie who works at startups in Silicon Valley, we want to be part of your early-warning radar (and, to be honest, we want you to tell us what we're missing).

We meet every month on the second Wednesday in Cubberly Community Center. Stop on by.
